拜耳在台灣

儘管拜耳至1958年才投入台灣市場，但是染料產品行銷中國大陸卻早在十九世紀末就開始。今日拜耳在台灣擁有近500名員工，2006年營業額超過150億新台幣。

1958年拜耳與台灣中德貿易公司簽下代理合約，由其負責經銷化學、染料、纖維、農藥、動物用藥等產品。由於這些產品在台銷售成績非凡，因此1964年西藥保健與動物保護產品也分別由不同的公司代理進入台灣市場，讓本地消費者與醫生也能受惠於拜耳醫藥產品。 自1958年以來，拜耳所有產品在台的銷售成績和市場佔有率不斷的大幅成長，1989年1月拜耳在台灣設立分公司，為拜耳在亞洲歷史展開新的一頁。

拜耳集團在追求永續發展的同時是以推動責任照顧為原則。台灣拜耳公司是台灣責任照顧協會的創始會員之一，透過積極的導入國際責任照顧制，台灣拜耳公司展現對其員工及台灣社會安全、衛生與環保的承諾。 台灣拜耳於2006年12月榮獲台北市政府衛生局以良好的整體表現獲得績優健康職場獎，另外連續三年與環保團體合作贊助並鼓勵員工熱心參與生態工作假期亦獲得頒發一座社區服務的特色獎。

台灣拜耳也積極的投入科學教育的領域，以實際行動贊助台北市立志清國小及台北市立金華國中德國模式的“拜耳科學教室”，並不定期舉辦科學研討會，期望透過日常生活的教育，培養學生從小注重安全與環保的習慣。爲了秉持拜耳對環保的重視，2004 – 2006連續三年與環保團體合作，號召國際及本地的志工，分別在台東、陽明山與花蓮舉辦"生態工作假期"，為國內生態環境貢獻心力，讓「生態工作假期」締造大自然新生命，期盼散播關懷環境的種子到社會的各個角落。

為了呼籲大家重視全球暖化問題，2007年底台灣拜耳公司和師大共同舉辦「拜耳節能大使科學教育活動」，藉由以「海水發電」為主題的「拜耳科學教育創意大賽」，教育小學生親手體驗海水發電能源帶來的神奇，讓孩子學習珍惜能源的可貴性，研究再生能源。並從參加競賽小學生中選出最優秀的「拜耳節能大使」，代表台灣前往德國參觀拜耳總部，親身體驗拜耳在環保節能上的用心，希望能為地球環保盡心力。

由於公司治理、企業承諾、社會參與與環境保護傑出的表現，台灣拜耳榮獲2008天下企業公民獎外商企業類第五名。在全球化浪潮下，世界的標準愈來愈一致，企業社會責任已經成為社會對於企業普遍的期待與要求。如何將涵蓋環保、社會、人才等面向的企業社會責任，與企業的經營策略結合是拜耳要努力的課題。

目前，拜耳集團在台灣有四家子公司，分別為台灣拜耳股份有限公司、拜耳作物科學公司、台灣拜耳聚優股份有限公司與拜耳優得股份有限公司。

Bayer started doing business in Taiwan in 1958, although the company had been exporting dyestuffs to China since the late 1800s. Today, Bayer employs around 500 people in Taiwan and achieves sales of over NT$ 15 billion on the island.

Bayer's involvement with Taiwan began with the signing of a distribution agreement with Chung Teh Company in 1958. Chung Teh distributed products from Bayer's Chemical, Dyestuffs, Fibers, Agrochemicals and Veterinary Business Groups. Encouraged by the success of this arrangement, the Health Care Business Groups soon entered the market. Taiwan Sales and market-shares for nearly all Bayer products have grown every year since the outset, and in January 1989 Bayer established a direct subsidiary in Taiwan, Bayer Taiwan Co., Ltd. and that has inaugurated an era for Bayer in Asia.

The principle of sustainable development is fundamental to Bayer philosophy. Bayer Taiwan Co. Ltd. became a founding member of the Taiwan Responsible Care Association (TRCA) founded in 1998, following years of strong promotion of the international Responsible Care program in Taiwan. Bayer Taiwan Received "Healthy Working Environment Awards of Excellence" from Department of Health, Taipei City Government. A special award for Bayer’s devotion in the community service was also granted in recognition of its continuing cooperation with environmental groups for Eco Working Holidays to promote environmental conservation.

Actively devoted to the advancement of science education, Bayer Taiwan sponsored Zih Ching Elementary School and Jinhua Junior High School in Taipei City to establish a German-style “Bayer Science Classroom” and holds scientific seminars irregularly. It is our hope to cultivate students with a caring for safety and environmental protection at an early age through daily education. To persist on its emphasis over environmental protection, Bayer Taiwan has joined efforts with environmental protection groups for the past three years (2004 – 2006) to mobilize domestic and international volunteers and hold “Ecological Working Holidays” in Taitung, Yangmingshan, and Hualien, respectively, through which Bayer contributes to the domestic ecological environment by instilling new life into the great nature. Spearheading the good deed, Bayer expects to spread the seeds of caring for the environment to every corner of the society.

To bring the public attention to global warming, Bayer Taiwan and National Taiwan Normal University jointly organize the “Bayer Energy-Conservation Ambassador Science Education” at the end of 2007. With the “Bayer Science Education Creativity Contest” featuring “seawater power generation”, elementary students are taught to have a hands-on experience of the magic brought about by seawater power and learn to treasure the value of energy as well as research on renewable energy. The best “Bayer Energy-Conservation Ambassador” was picked and represent Taiwan to visit the headquarters of Bayer in Germany, where she can experience in person the efforts made by Bayer in environmental protection and energy-saving. Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the environmental protection on the Earth.

The outstanding performance of our company in governance, corporate commitment, social participation, and environmental protection won us the 5th place in Foreign Investment of the 2008 Common Wealth Corporate Citizenship. In the trend of globalization, standards around the world are becoming more and more consistent. Corporate social responsibility has become a common expectation and requirement from the society for a corporation. Therefore, Bayer needs to continue its efforts in combining its corporate social responsibilities in environmental protection, social participation, and talent with the management strategies of the company.

There are four subsidiaries in Taiwan. They are Bayer Taiwan Co., Ltd., Bayer CropScience Co., Ltd, Bayer Polyurethanes Taiwan Ltd., and Bayer-Uretech Ltd.
