拜耳材料科技事業群

拜耳材料科技事業群是全球最大聚合物和高品質塑膠製造廠商，2009年的總營業額達75億歐元，主要業務為高科技聚合物原材料以及為日常生活中不同領域的產品開發創新解決方案。除聚碳酸酯和聚氨酯外，公司還在塗料、黏著劑、絕緣體材料和特殊化學品領域擁有創新發展。其客戶主要來自汽車、電器、電子產品、建築、運動、休閒產品及醫療設備等產業。截至2009年底，拜耳材料科技在全球擁有30個生產基地，有約14,300位員工。在台灣約有45位員工。拜耳材料科技四項核心業務為·(1)聚氨酯 (2)聚碳酸酯 (3)塗料、黏著劑、特殊化學品(4)熱塑性聚氨酯。此外，還包括基礎無機化合物業務。

研發活動

拜耳材料科技2009年的研發投資為2.75億歐元，其中不包括公司與客戶合作展開的研發活動。聚碳酸酯部門致力於開發產品新的規格及應用，並持續改善製程。而目前聚氨酯部門主要的研發領域專注於開發新的與改善聚醚型多元醇及改良多元醇與芳香族異氰酸酯製程。塗料、接著劑、特殊化學品部門主要的研發活動為研發聚氨酯材料的高性能規格的塗料、接著劑與密封劑。熱可塑性聚氨酯部門則關注於研發高性能的熱可塑性聚氨酯高透明度薄膜產品。

為了探索新的活動領域，“新業務（New Business）”部門還對創新科技和市場趨勢展開了研究和評估，隨後在各個業務部門或獨立的公司予以實施。拜耳材料科技還通過眾多研發專案與全球很多大學、機構和新興企業展開了密切合作。

拜耳材料科技在台的業務有PCS (聚碳酸酯)、PUR(聚氨酯)、CAS(塗料原材料 / 接著劑原料)、TPU(熱可塑性聚胺酯)與新業務開發。

除了在台北設有銷售據點，並分別在高雄設立台灣拜耳聚優股份有限公司及彰化設立拜耳優得股份有限公司兩家生產工廠。

With 2009 sales of 7.5 billion euros (continuing operations),Bayer MaterialScience is one of the world's leading manufacturers of polymers and high-quality plastics. Apart from its polycarbonates and polyurethanes, this company's offering also includes innovative developments in the fields of coatings, adhesives, insulating materials and sealants. Principal customers are the automotive and construction industries, the electrical/ electronics sector and manufacturers of sports and leisure articles, packaging and medical equipment. Bayer MaterialScience had 30 production sites and employed approximately 14,300 people around the globe. There are around 45 employees in Taiwan. The subgroup's portfolio is divided into four business units：(1) Polyurethanes (2) Polycarbonates (3) Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties (4) Thermoplastic Polyurethanes. Research and Development Activities

Investment in research and development at Bayer MaterialScience in 2009 came to 275 million euros, not including the company’s joint development activities with customers.

To tap possible new areas of activities, the “New Business” unit studies and evaluates innovative technology and market trends. These are then implemented in the business units or in independence companies. Bayer MaterialScience also works closely with universities, institutes and start-ups throughout the world on research and development projects.
