成立於2000年，是拜耳集團併購美商利安德化學公司（Lyondell Chemical）多元醇事業部，並整合原台灣拜耳公司聚胺酯事業處後所成立之公司。擁有約59位員工。

台灣拜耳聚優主要業務為銷售聚醚多元醇（Polyether Polyol）、二異氰酸甲苯酯（TDI）、二異氰酸二苯甲烷（MDI）等PU(聚氨酯)材料，除在高雄林園工廠生產聚醚多元醇，也在台北設有銷售據點，是拜耳集團在台灣的第一個生產基地，也是國內聚醚多元醇最大製造商，所生產之多元醇及依客戶需求特製的PU系統材料，不僅提供國內所需，也外銷至中國大陸及東南亞各國。

目前拜耳是世界上聚胺酯原料二異氰酸甲苯酯(TDI)和二異氰酸二苯甲烷(MDI)最大的供應商，提供全球超過1/4的異氰酸酯(isocyanates)的需求量。而其他重要的聚胺酯原料，像聚醚多元醇(polyether polyol)和聚酯多元醇(polyester polyol)，拜耳也是居領導地位的廠商。同時，在不含氟氯碳化物(CFC)之PU系統料方面，拜耳公司也擁有最先進的科技。

Bayer Polyurethanes Taiwan Ltd. was established in 2000, following Bayer Group's acquisition of the global polyols business of United States-based Lyondell Chemical Company and the integration of Bayer Taiwan Polyurethanes business division.

Bayer Polyurethanes Taiwan markets and distributes Polyether Polyol and PU raw materials such as TDI and MDI. Apart from a sales office in Taipei, Bayer Polyurethanes Taiwan operates a Polyether Polyol plant with an area of 8 hectares in Lin-Yuan Petrochemical Complex, Kaohsiung County. Bayer Polyurethanes Taiwan is now the nation's biggest Polyether Polyol manufacturer. And the Lin-Yuan plant is Bayer Group's first production site in Taiwan. It supplies not only customized solutions to the local market, but also to those of Mainland China and Southeastern countries.

Bayer is now the world's biggest supplier of polyurethanes raw materials with a more than one-quarter share of the world's isocyanates market. Bayer is also the leading manufacturer of other important components of polyurethane chemistry: polyether polyol and polyester polyol. In the field of CFC-free and CFC-replacement PU system, Bayer possesses the world's most advanced technology.
